Olive was born and raised in Bend, Oregon, a place that shaped her love for the outdoors and passion for climate and energy work. She is a second year undergraduate student studying Environmental Science and Public Policy with a citation in Spanish at Harvard University. She’s interested in grid innovation, climate tech, and the intersection of ocean-based renewable energy technologies and marine conservation, and hopes to make change in these spaces in her future.

With a background in climate policy and advocacy, she began her work in energy improving the energy efficiency of scientific equipment on Harvard’s campus and educating classmates about best energy-saving practices through the college’s Resource Efficiency Program. She spent a summer as a Strategic Energy Management Intern through the Energy Trust of Oregon, working on everything from writing energy policy to installing LEDs. More recently, she’s worked with fellow students researching state-level decarbonization policy and renewable infrastructure development to forecast how energy generation will change across the US in the near future. She currently serves on the business board of the Harvard Undergraduate Clean Energy Group, connecting students, alumni, and professionals focused on climate and energy. She looks forward to continuing her work in energy at Base Power Company in Austin, Texas over the summer.
